The Fast Pace of Life in Suzhou - Pamela Jackson on the Home-grown Entrepreneurs of Suzhou
Wed 27 Oct 2010
We hear so much about life in the very big cities of China that it will be fascinating to hear Dr Pamela Jackson an Australian born consultant and business women talk about her book "Social Development of Entrepreneurs in Contemporary Suzhou" based on her research over a number of years in this smaller, though now energetic city.

After three decades working in Australia, Europe and China, Pamela explores her research and some of the fascinating stories from the numerous entrepreneurs she interviewed in Suzhou. While some view modernity as highly risky, others choose to work at an adrenalin fast pace to get-ahead. This topic is documented through the eyes of an outsider by collecting stories from ordinary individuals who have taken the decision to become home-grown entrepreneurs. It is presented through the analysis of three different groups: The Deng, Apprenticing and Fearless Generations.
