| Thu 2 Mar 2006 | |
| The Modern Language Teachers' Association of the ACT invites you to an evening with Dr Michael Clyne, at the Asia Bookroom.
Australia is a country with a wide diversity of languages in a world in which there are more multilinguals than monolinguals. In his most recent publication, Australia's Language Potential, Dr Michael Clyne explores the paradox of a nation rich in language resources. Michael Clyne illustrates the ways in which our language resources can be consolidated and further developed for universal benefit. Topics covered include recognising Australia's multilingualism, valuing Australia's multilingualism, fostering, supporting and strengthening multilingualism. What then is our role as language teachers in this context? When: Thursday 2nd March 6-8pm Where: Asia Bookroom, Lawry Place, Macquarie. RSVP: By 27 February |
